We were pleased to be able to depart the airport and walk for a few minutes to enter the One Hotel. Our reservation was handled quickly, and within a few minutes we entered our room. The room was basic, but adequate, although we could not get the T.V. to work, we did not request assistance. The issue for me was that the Air Conditioner was full of MILDEW. The windows were not built to be able to open, so a person had no choice about whether or not to use the A.C. The mildew smell was so overpowering that even the next day, after we reached our next destination, the nightgown I had worn had a strong smell of mildew. Within a day or so, I became quite ill with a sinus infection, which I attribute to the mold/mildew in the A.C. system.

We stayed at One Puerto Vallarta Hotel for one night before flying home, and overall it was fine for a short overnight stay. When we first arrived, we were sent to a room where the door was open and it was clear someone had already been sleeping in the bed. We went back down to the front desk, and they reassigned us to a room next door on the same floor, which was much better. The rooms are very small and remind me of a dorm-style room. There’s really no place to put a suitcase unless it’s on the bed. The beds are very soft, but the pillows are quite small and flat. The room did have air conditioning, which was appreciated. Our view overlooked a school football/soccer field. We didn’t have time to use the pool, but the pool area looked quite nice. Breakfast was included and very traditional Mexican-style — plenty of food if you’re hungry. They also had water and coffee available in the lobby 24 hours a day, which was a nice touch. There is outdoor parking available. At around $125 CAD per night, it felt reasonable for a quick overnight stay before travelling home, but not somewhere we’d choose for a longer visit.

Due to not making my flight I stayed 1 night at the hotel as it is conveniently located near the airport (about 10 minute walk). The hotel is fairly clean and offers good value for short stays. That being said, as many convenient hotels located close to airports, they are always noisy (as this one is), but the bigger issue was that there is obviously mould within the air conditioning unit as I experienced allergy symptoms within minutes of turning on the unit. I was able to tolerate this for one night, but it was unpleasant. Beyond that, the staff was attentive, room and hotel clean and breakfast decent. Worth a stay for 1 night.

I really enjoyed the swimming pool, their Mexican breakfasts and being able to walk to the airport with my luggage. Swimming pool hours are 9 am to 9 pm, but they don't rush us out at closing. Didn't like that I didn't have a hot shower both nights, and that I got pinched on the toilet seat every time.

I chose this hotel because of its convenient location near the airport, and it served its purpose for an overnight stay before my morning flight. However, if you're seeking a more upscale or luxurious experience, this wouldn't be the best option. Pros: The hotel is budget-friendly, close to the airport, and offers quick check-in. Cons: The cleanliness left much to be desired, there was no hot water, no hair conditioner provided, and the pool area was quite dirty
